MEMBERS SHOWCASE

When: April 23, 2008 at 7:30PM

Where: Reed’s Landing Community Room

By: Fellow SPS Members

Our group has many good “shooters” in it and as such those who choose to will be given an opportunity to “strut their stuff” by showing a mini presentation of their images for our viewing pleasure. At the last two meetings, members were invited, on a voluntary basis, to put together a short program, 5 to 10 minutes, of their photographic likes. A program such as this gives our members a chance to try their hand at preparing a presentation consisting of a series of related images rather than one or two disconnected images that we see during a competition night. This makes for an interesting evening because most people see and photograph a little differently and it gives the rest of us an opportunity to see a varied assortment of photographic styles.

New Feature: Do you need something to do for the weekend, week or month? See the 'Conferences,Tours, and Workshops' in our Related Links page.

The February competition (which was cancelled due to bad weather) will be combined with March's.  If you were eligible to enter a makeup in February you may enter it with your February entry on March 12th.  Same for March.  In theory you could enter 4 entries in each area for February.  Yes the category for February and March will be accepted on the 12th.  Make-ups for January category will be accepted. Also, there will be NO commentary in an effort to not prolong the evening

Once again I need large color and black and white prints to submit for the Spring NECCC inter club competition.  The February storm combined with a March 12th submission deadline only leaves us the December competition entries to work with.  Please bring any that you feel may fill the need, to the Digital Competition on the 5th.

Please make sure that you separate and clearly identify February's and March's entries.

The Springfield Photographic Society is a non-profit, hobby club which meets every other Wednesday from September through May. SPS has had a new meeting place and schedule since the 2006-7 season. From September to May, meetings take place at Reed's Landing at 7:30 pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. Reed's Landing is located at 807 Wilbraham Road in Springfield

The club activities include monthly programs and competitions where club members submit their own photographic works for critique and viewing by other members. The programs are intended to entertain and/or educate the members in the art and science of photography. SPS is also a member club of the New England Camera Club Council (see "Links") which, each July, hosts a major photography event and conference at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA.

Guests are always welcome to our meets. See "Recent and Upcoming Events" for a complete listing.
