CELEBRATING 70 YEARS OF PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGING, LEARNING, AND EXHIBITING

This year marks the 70th year of the Springfield Photographic Society; and, to kick this year's calendar of events off, Ligia Dovale-Kiamco, an award winning photographer from Rhode Island, has agreed to present her digital presentation titled, "Celebrating Nature and Wildlife." This program has been shown around the country and has been receiving accolades by everyone fortunate enough to enjoy sharing her visions.

The Springfield Photographic Society, which came into existence in the fall of 1936, has been a motivating, educating, and entertaining force in the Springfield, surrounding communities, and throughout New England. The organization has also been an outlet for artists of the photographic media for exhibits and competitions of a local, regional, national, and global nature.

Congrats on 60 Years Together!!

Submitted by Rich Novak

Congratulations are in order for two couples in our membership, Dick & Jean Simmons and Vic & Betty Bargar. Both couples recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, Dick & Jean at the end of March, and Vic & Betty at the end of May. In this day and age, 50 years together is a big deal but to have two couples within our small group celebrate 60 years together (and only a couple of months apart), we can only say WOW!

God Bless Dick & Jean and Vic & Betty. We wish all of the best for you.

E-MAIL DELIVERY OF EXPOSURES

About twenty people signed up for the e-mail version and we plan to continue this service this season.  If you are presently receiving your newsletter by U.S. Mail (snail mail), and would like to switch to the e-mail edition, please contact Don Hawley at casper5@aol.com .  Those of you who already get the e-mail version need do nothing. The Club benefits from the e-mail distribution because each hard copy costs about 55 cents to print and mail. You as a member benefit by getting your Exposures a day or two earlier, and you get it in color (provided of course that you have a color printer). All you need is a computer, an internet service provider, and the capability to open a Word 97 document. If youre not sure of your computers capability, we would be happy to e-mail you a test version of Exposures for you to find out.
